Anti bacterial eggshell for interior walls, ceilings and woodwork, Argentum 20 has chemical and scratch resistance class 04, 05, 06 and aids in the prevention of multi-bacterial growth including MRSA and E. coli.
Once dry Argentum 20 forms and incredibly scrub and impact resistant film, in addition argentum 20 holds an M1 emissions classification certifying it safe for use in environments where atmospheric air quality is critical.
Suitable for walls and ceilings in rooms requiring a high standard of hygiene. Recommended for interiors, hospitals and other healthcare facilities as well as various food production facilities, such as dairies and breweries. Argentum 20 withstands hard wear and intensive cleaning, with detergents and disinfectants designed for hospital use.
Argentum 20 prevents bacterial growth on painted surfaces thanks to active silver contained in the paint. It has been tested according to standard ISO 22196. The bacterial strains used in the standard are Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538P and Escherichia coli ATCC 8739.
The active silver in the paint is effective against many microbial species, including the following:
• Gram-negative bacteria: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, P. stutzeri, Enterobacter cloacae, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae
• Gram-positive bacteria: S. aureus, S. epidermidis, Enterococcus faecium, E. faecalis
• Antibiotic-resistant bacteria: MRSA, VRE, multidrug-resistant
P. aeruginosa, vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium
• Yeasts and moulds: Candida glabrata, C. albicans, C. tropicalis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae
